Sunday I cleaned out the random tree branches that have fallen behind the barn. Some of which the previous owners left for me... thank you!! I decided to take some pictures tonight to document my before look and hopefully at the end of summer there will be a HUGE difference.
Okay a must on the agenda the next week.... removing the tree branches and leaves that are left over from the fall. See my lovely pile of branches??!?!?!??!
You can also notice I am missing some grass in a sunken perfect circle off the deck. That is where the previous owner had an above ground pool. I have toyed with the idea of putting a brick patio and fire pit in that circle, but have decided the easiest and cheaper idea would be to fill it in with dirt and plant some grass.
Number 2 on the summer agenda is stain the deck. The deck was half painted blue when I moved in. So was the carpet... the walls.... everything that could be painted was basically blue. Now I used to like blue but after buying this house I have changed my mind!! Some of the boards on the deck need nailed down again and some remaining blue paint needs to come off!!
And then finally the flower beds. I need to find a way to keep my dog and the rabbits out of the flower beds. I REALLY don't think I will ever figure that one out!! But I will need to remove the wood border on my flower beds in the very back of the yard and instead do brick the same brick border that the flower beds around the house have. And then of course mulch everything and maybe if I have more money actually plant some flowers.
As long as the weather stays nice and I do not hurt myself I hope to make progress on the yard. Who knows maybe I will have to blog about that after the race!!!
