Feels like Ground Hog Day

Have you ever seen the movie Ground Hog Day where Bill Murray lives the day over and over?? Well for the past 2-3 weeks I feel like it is Ground Hog Day every day roughly around 3pm with the snow. It never fails everyday I look out my work window at 3:30 and it is a blizzard and we get 1-3 inches. I am either living in a snow globe or living the same day over and over and over again!!!!

I had all intentions of being a hard core runner last night and running in the snow. I actually was pumped to run in the snow I wanted to look like a real runner. Unfortunately, while cleaning all the snow off my car after work in the parking lot I locked my keys in my car. Oh, and may I add the car was running!!!!

I didn’t even realize I did it until the car was cleaned off and I was ready to head home. I stood there with the scrapper in my hand tried door number one…nothing. I did the double pat down on my coat pockets looking for my keys. Tried door number two…nothing. Said a few choice words and ran around to the passenger side to try door number three...nothing. Then it sunk in what I did, as I stood there and looked at the keys in my ignition and my purse on the passenger seat with my cell phone next to it. Then I tried door number four just in case... nothing. It was official I just locked myself out of my car for the very first time.

So I headed back into the building to call someone to help. As I was approaching the doors to the building my good friend Kara walked out. I have to say as she walked out the doors it was like a glow of light was around her she was going to be my savior. I stopped dead in my tracks and put my head down. She asked what was wrong, so I told her. Then we both just busted out laughing. What are good friends for right?

After Timken Security tried to open the door with a homemade slim jim for over a half hour and we couldn’t get a hold of AAA. Kara ran me home to get my spare key and the security guard sat with my car because it was running. I do have to admit by the time I got in the car it was nice and toasty warm!!!!

The lesson learned last night was NEVER lock your keys in the car in the middle of a snow storm while the car is running. And always be able to laugh at yourself with your friends!!!
