Okay, the days are FLYING by and the race is quickly approaching. The weather has remained decent no more snow (so far) and the donations keep coming in.
Within the next week my donation meter should be caught up and true. I sent in a bunch of donations yesterday and keep receiving more. I received $50 from Linda and Greg, $50 from Uncle Mark and Aunt Paula, $100 from the East Coast Martial Arts (my home away from home), two managers at work each gave $20 (Barb and Dale), Christine gave me $25, and then of course all the Scotch doubles money ($748).
My commitment to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to raise $1700 for my entrance into the race. My personal goal I set for myself is $2000. I know I have met the $1700 so I can rest easy for the race, and just hope I get the $2000.
No more stressful fundraiser planning …now I can just relax and concentrate on the race. I have had multiple people tell me that they had a blast at the Scotch Doubles and I need to do this every year. I am excited to get the pictures from the photographer I am hoping there are some good action shots!! The photographer was a Glen oak High School Senior that has to log community service hours for her photo workshop. It ended up being a win, win situation with her being there. She was able to log about 4 hours and we get some pictures from the night!!
NOW ….. focus on the race and my training that is my top priority. I need to pound that in my head. I have to take care of my body paying close attention to the right foods. I have to stick very close to a set training schedule. To prevent injuries, no more switching rest days or cross training days. I plan on following the given training schedule from our coaches. I am going to put my faith in them that they know what they are doing!! (haha)
March is almost over and it is time to get super serious about my training!!! Ten Miles on the training calendar for Saturday. I wonder if the saying "If you can run eight miles, you can run ten" is also true???
